Foundation History
The AUA's Foundation has a new name—the Urology Care Foundation. The meaning behind our new name comes from the care and collaboration at the core of the Foundation's leadership in urologic health.
We have a new name, but we have a long history. The Foundation's Research Scholars Program has supported young urology researchers for more than 35 years. Since 1987, we have been the official foundation of the American Urological Association (AUA). This special relationship connects the resources of the AUA and its urologists with promising urology researchers and patients in need of urologic health information.
Over time, The Urology Care Foundation's work has grown to include several research and patient education programs. We work with researchers, healthcare professionals, patients and caregivers to improve patients' lives. The Foundation believes that urologic research is very important to improving patient care. We support programs that provide funding and support to the urology research community. We provide patients accurate and up-to-date information and materials about urologic problems.
Today, the Urology Care Foundation continues to be a leader in promoting research and education about urologic problems to improve patients' lives.
