Senior Manager of Outreach Programs
The American Urological Association (AUA) Foundation is the leading national urology health foundation and the official Foundation of the American Urological Association. We are actively recruiting for a Sr. Manager- Outreach Programs. Our office is located near Baltimore Washington International Airport in Linthicum, Maryland.
This position reports to the Executive Director of the American Urological Association (AUA) Foundation. Supervises Outreach/Patient Education staff and works closely with the volunteer Outreach Council and Council Chair. Develops programs, products and services with the goal that the AUA Foundation becomes the undisputed source for accurate, reputable urology patient education information. Oversee and direct Program strategy and lead the effort to expand the Foundation’s outreach associated with urologic patient/public information for education and advocacy purposes. Work closely with AUAF and AUA departments in enhancing current educational programs and materials, as well as creating new initiatives and opportunities.
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred with experience in healthcare communications, business, social service or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in program development in advocacy, awareness, education or related initiatives in a nonprofit health agency.
- Business experience including financial planning, budgets, grants, new business development and program evaluation.
- Experience working with a governing board as well as volunteers.
- Minimum 8 years experience in staff supervision and evaluation.
- Excellent communication skills. Public speaking experience is required.
- Highly motivated and organized.
- Internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database proficiency required.
- Travel is required.

Development Individual Giving Specialist
The American Urological Association (AUA) Foundation is a national leader in education, advocacy and research efforts for urology. Originally established in 1987, the Foundation works to improve the care and treatment of patients with urologic diseases by educating the public, advancing urologic research and advocating on the local, state and national levels. As the premier provider and resource for the most current, comprehensive and reliable urologic health information, our education initiatives have become valuable resources for patients and the public across the globe. We are actively recruiting for a Development Individual Giving Specialist.
Provides assistance and expertise for individual fundraising including: direct marketing programs; donor stewardship; donor database & prospect management; event fundraising; state and federal registrations; and other functions as needed to support fundraising objectives. Prepares and produces lists for direct marketing efforts. Acts as liaison with vendors and internal resources for direct mail, social media and online giving marketing. Tracks and saves research information on prospects. Maintains a donor file. Manages donor stewardship and produces materials for projects and events. Manages individual donor database, including donor gift entry. Administrative support as needed.
Works independently on a variety of special projects as requested.
The successful candidate will have:
Four year college degree; 3-5 years experience in development. Advanced degree or certificate preferred. Strong and demonstrated skill with database management such as Raisers Edge. Excellent skills with Microsoft Office required; familiarity with intermediate Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Superior writing skills, including excellent proofreading skills required. Ability to conduct on-line and library research. Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to travel to attend evening conference calls, as requested.Â
