Summer Medical Student Fellowship Program.
Urology research is an exciting and dynamic field that requires participation of many talented and dedicated individuals. Recruitment of individuals in the early stages of their careers is essential to ensure the succession of outstanding individuals required to maintain and advance the field. Stimulating and meaningful research experiences mentored by leaders in the field are likely to stimulate the interest needed to accomplish that goal, and could be the catalyst that leads medical students to pursue a career in academic urology.
The AUA Foundation and the Arkansas Urologic Society is proud to provide the Arkansas Urologic Society Summer Medical Student Fellowship Program, designed to encourage medical students to join the field of urology through a summer fellowship program. This program is made possible through the support of the Arkansas Urologic Society Research Fund.
Depending on the number and quality of the grants submitted, the AUA Foundation anticipates awarding up to four Arkansas Urologic Society Summer Medical Student Fellowship grants. The summer fellowship may be accomplished at any institution in the country, but the student must enter or return to the University of Arkansas following the fellowship summer. Any travel associated with the award will be the responsibility of the applicant or sponsored through the institution.
