Pfizer/Urology Care Foundation 2011 OAB-LUTS Competitive Research Awards Program

To encourage academic research careers in female urology and bladder dysfunction, Pfizer, Inc and the Urology Care Foundation have partnered in collaboration with the Society for Urodynamics and Female Urology (SUFU) to offer two competitive research grant opportunities.
Pfizer/Urology Care Foundation Female Urology and Voiding Dysfunction Research Training Awards
The Research Training Awards track will allow mentors with established research programs in female urology and voiding dysfunction to submit proposals for established or to-be-named trainees. Up to three grants, each up to $37,500 per year for a period of two consecutive years, will be awarded.

Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS) and Bladder Dysfunction Research Exploration Awards
The goal of the Research Exploration Awards track is to encourage research by MD and PhD researchers to advance the understanding of the basic mechanisms underlying the function of the lower urinary tract and the pathobiology underlying Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS) and bladder dysfunction. Investigators at the doctoral level are eligible to apply for up to $75,000 to support their research for an 18-month performance period. Funds may be used to cover salary, research supplies, technical support, animal costs and other research-related costs. Up to three awards will be granted.
