  • Dr. Natasha Kyprianou, PhD

    Dr. Kyprianou is the James F. Hardymon Chair of Urologic Research at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She is also a Professor of Surgery/Urology, Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and Professor of Toxicology.

    Dr. Schaeffer has made major contributions to urologic research and has re-invigorated interest in basic science research as a strong advocate of physician-scientists and their needs.

    Dr. Stephen Zderic is the John W. Duckett Endowed Chair in Pediatric Urology and is a Professor of Urology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Zderic received his B.S. from the University of California-Riverside and M.D. from UCLA.

2010 AUA Foundation John W. Duckett Award for Excellence in Pediatric Research

Dr. Stephen Zderic is the John W. Duckett Endowed Chair in Pediatric Urology and is a Professor of Urology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Zderic received his B.S. from the University of California-Riverside and M.D. from UCLA. He was an NIH Summer Medical Student Trainee at UCLA in 1980. Dr. Zderic completed residency at Penn and served as a fellow under Dr. Duckett at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He has authored three books on bladder and pediatric research. His research interests include molecular mechanisms of bladder wall hypertrophy and stress induced changes in bladder function.
